We are always looking at access solutions to make it possible to clean windows to properties that other just could not reach, having worked closely with Ionics Systems now for the past 10 years we had discussed the need for a larger pole than the 65ft, this year they developed the 80ft swift the largest production reach and wash water fed pole on the UK market, we took on a proto type to trial, following the trail we were one if not the first contractor to receive the pole and put it in to action.
This is not the first solution we would use for cleaning windows at this height but with modern architecture and building solutions, sometimes it is not possible to use access equipment due to weight limits on paths and plaza’s around the buildings and rope access may not be possible due to over hangs or lack of anchor points.
We had just these issues with a property in Watford, with a 8 storey building with no roof access and a new addition of a raised car park around the building to add additional parking with a 3tn limit, the 80ft Swift came in to its own…
One a few other sites we have put it to work where it is needed for a small amount of windows as a cost saving solution in not needing access equipment or rope access and a window cleaning solution.
Due to the length of the water fed pole we do have a two man team operating it at all times and set up a drop zone around the work area.
Some may say how can you clean windows at heights up to 80ft from the ground, well with this reach and wash water fed pole and the Ionics Zero reach and wash system it made light work of some birds mess……
