Drones
When parts of a building are difficult, dangerous or disruptive to reach, drones can be a significant asset.
They can be used for window and façade cleaning, all of which present different challenges and require both technical knowledge from our team and a clear understanding of the building and its environment.
How do we deploy drones?
We work alongside specialist drone provider KTV Working Drone to deploy tethered drone technology on a range of projects. We specifically use tethered drones because untethered drones can require significant exclusion zones in the event of a malfunction, potentially requiring road closures.
By contrast, with a tethered drone, in the unlikely event of a malfunction, the drone remains suspended, reducing risk and allowing for smaller exclusion zones and less disruption to sites.
The tethered drone can also operate within centimetres of a building’s surface, helping to deliver a more consistent finish. Beyond windows, we can use this approach for façade cleaning, statues, sculptures and other high-level applications.
How do we remain compliant?
Our drone operations are underpinned by rigorous compliance, detailed planning and the appropriate permissions from the Civil Aviation Authority, which oversees and regulates all aviation and aerospace in the UK.
Building the expertise and operational track record required to work safely at this level typically takes six to twelve months, reinforcing why our collaboration with KTV Working Drone is vital to ensure seamless operations for clients, as and when we are needed.
We set the standard
As technologies like drones become more widely available, our approach will keep evolving.
Despite that, our fundamentals remain the same: our drone experts use the best tools for the job, with safety at the forefront.
