JVP is proud to have maintained membership status with the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA), the global authority for industrial rope access, for 10 years, following the successful completion of our latest audit this summer. The milestone recognises a decade of sustained commitment to the principles and working practices that underpin safe and effective industrial rope-access operations.
The IRATA membership is not a one-off achievement. Maintaining it requires consistent attention to detail across every aspect of our rope-access operations, including training, equipment, planning, supervision, documentation, and operational delivery.
While IRATA membership is not a legal requirement for providers, becoming a member company is widely recognised as a benchmark for best practice within the industry. We undergo an independent audit every three years to ensure we are meeting these high standards. Regular independent audits provide an important opportunity to rigorously test our processes and procedures, ensuring they remain effective, robust and fit for purpose. More importantly, they allow us to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and strengthen the standards we apply across our rope access operations.
Craig Deamer, JVP’s Technical Authority and HSQE Director, leads the technical governance behind the company’s rope-access activities. Working closely with his peers across the industry and colleagues within the business, he helps ensure that procedures remain robust, teams are fully supported, and valuable lessons from day-to-day operations are captured, shared, and used to continually strengthen future delivery.
A combined effort is central to JVP’s approach. Before anyone sets foot on a roof, safety protocols and strict preparation steps must be fully established to prevent falls and serious injury, therefore the risks are assessed, working methods are established, rescue arrangements are reviewed, and the appropriate personnel and equipment are allocated.
On site, our trained rope-access teams put these protocols into practice, maintaining clear communication, following established procedures, and working safely within the conditions and environment they encounter. This structured approach ensures that safety remains at the forefront of every operation, from initial planning through to completion.
