JVP is embarking on a comprehensive fleet replacement programme, designed to modernise the vehicles that support our teams and customers every day. A central part of this investment is the electrification of all vans where it is practical to do so, helping us reduce the environmental impact of our operations while maintaining the dependable service our customers expect.
A phased approach
The programme will be delivered in phases, as existing vehicles reach the appropriate point in their lifecycle. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, each replacement will be assessed against the work it needs to perform. Daily mileage, payload, route profile, charging access and the availability of suitable electric models will all be considered before a decision is made.
The importance of an electric fleet
Where the operational case is right, electric vans can offer clear benefits: lower emissions, quieter journeys and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. Newer vehicles also provide improved comfort and reliability for colleagues who spend a significant part of their working day on the road. By linking electrification with planned fleet renewal, JVP can make progress in a responsible, commercially sound way.
Operational continuity remains essential. The transition will therefore be supported by careful route planning, charging arrangements and ongoing reviews of vehicle performance. Where today’s electric options cannot yet meet a particular operational requirement, JVP will select the most efficient and suitable alternative and revisit electrification as vehicle and charging technology develops.
